Bush raises option of using force against Iran
CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - President Bush said he could consider using force as a last resort to press Iran to give up its nuclear program.
"He could consider" -- that means, we're gonna do it come hell or high water.
"Last Resort-- that means, we're gonna do it and we gotta figger out some way to make it look good.
The problem with insular administrations -- and this one is the most insular ever -- is they never see the ground shifting. (There's actually an electrical current pun in there somewhere.)
The first war of choice -- Iraq -- people went along grudgingly, sort of "Well, if you say so..."
This one -- the people will just say "That boy's not right. In fact, he's just stone-cold fucking apeshit crazy and we gotta get him the hell out of there."
They won't be talking about Saddam Hussein or the Ayatollah Winky-Dink, either.
In the words of Bob Hansen, a good friend and wise neighbor I haven't seen in some time -- "They ALWAYS make the same mistakes."
And as Napoleon said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake." I doubt that anyone in the Dumbocratic Party is sharp enough to know that, though.
