Leviticus on Las Migras

I'm not one for biblical authority, since people who use that seem to pick and choose the ones that serve their comfort and wallets ... but there is this one that relates to the current immigration debate (not just ours in the USA), and it amuses me to quote it here:

Leviticus 19:33,34

"And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."

---Hey HE said it, not me. You wouldn't listen to me anyway, but you SAY you listen to that guy.

Correction to the Neocon-Trotskyite posting in this column

Actually, this particular bunch of miscreants were not exactly Trots .. the people who made them Neocons, like Leo Strauss, had been Trots prior to becoming fascists, mostly because Stalin awas proving more and more anti-semitic and their primary concern for the existence of israel, also preceiving the Left to be largely anti-Zionist, moved them over to becoming Bill of Rights Shredders and literal Fascists -- i.e., people who advocate an authoritarian government that is a fusion of state and corporation.

People who want to rule the world ALWAYS have a good excuse why they need to have all the power and YOU (and I) need to SHUT UP or be PUNISHED.

And, in the words of an old German philosopher who understood good excuses -- even was the source of many culled from his writing, but not this one:

"Distrust all in whom
the impulse to punish is powerful."

This just in via email from a friend:

An outsider's view of the Catholic outrage at what the DaVinci code might do to its image.

The man on the left, the one wearing a fabulous vintage chiffon-lined
Dior gold lame gown over a silk Vera Wang empire waist tulle cocktail dress,
accessorized with a 3-foot beaded peaked House of Whoville hat, and
the ruby slippers Judy Garland wore in the Wizard of Oz, is worried that The
DaVinci Code might make the Roman Catholic Church look foolish?

Bush to Lay Wreath at Arlington

- - - - - - - - - - - -

May 29,2006 | WASHINGTON -- "As he observes Memorial Day today, President Bush is expected to say more sacrifices may be needed in Iraq. At Arlington National Cemetery, Bush will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Bush is also signing a bill this morning that bars protesters from some military funerals."

---so, if anyone wants to stand outside a military funeral of a friend or neighbor with a sign asking why there was no body armor or Humvee armor, now THAT'S illegal.

Asking the Helen Thomas question -- "Why did you send troops to Iraq?" will also be prohibited.

But if Reverend Wildman or his minions shout "Your son will burn in Hell" and "God hates fags" at the parents of some dead gay kid who was lynched or died of AIDS -- that's ok -- as long as it's at a civilian funeral.

Meanwhile, former Hitler-youth Pope Ratburger goes to Auschwitz and spends all his time wailing about the Polish Catholics who were murdered there.

(And no, I don't believe he HAD to join the Hitler Youth and Sig Heil the monster. I'm certain lots of followers of Jesus have refused to condone throwing people in ovens rather than get teased in the playground.)

You wouldn't have thought it would be the Pope who would come up with a new, improved definition of CHUTZPAH.

They seem to always leave out the most important part of what Mr Murtha said...

They're at it again -- trying to diss Rep Murtha, pretend he's not nearly the patriot Monkey Boy with his almost-completed National Guard service was -- trying to make him out as someone with contempt for Marines, like the one he was until he got essential parts blown off... check it out --

Murtha: New Scandal Worse Than Abu Ghraib

By DOUGLASS K. DANIEL Associated Press Writer

May 28,2006 | WASHINGTON -- The fallout from the killing of as many as two dozen Iraqi civilians by Marines could undermine U.S. efforts in Iraq more than the Abu Ghraib prison scandal did, a lawmaker who is a prominent war critic said Sunday.

The shootings last November at Haditha, a city in the Anbar province of western Iraq that has been plagued by insurgents, were covered up, said Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.

"Who covered it up, why did they cover it up, why did they wait so long?" Murtha said on "This Week" on ABC. "We don't know how far it goes. It goes right up the chain of command."

A bomb rocked a military convoy on Nov. 19, killing a Marine. Marines then shot and killed unarmed civilians in a taxi at the scene and went into two homes and shot other people, according to Murtha, who has been briefed by officials.

Marines then shot and killed unarmed civilians in a taxi at the scene and went into two homes and shot other people, he said...

"I will not excuse murder, and this is what happened," Murtha said. "This investigation should have been over two or three weeks afterward and it should have been made public and people should have been held responsible for it."

Murtha, a former Marine and a prominent critic of Bush administration policies in Iraq, repeated his view that the war in Iraq cannot be won militarily and needs political solutions, which he said were damaged by such incidents involving the U.S.

"This is the kind of war you have to win the hearts and minds of the people," he said. "And we're set back every time something like this happens. This is worse than Abu Ghraib."

But THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT MR MURTHA SAID -- and the one omitted, which makes it look as if he's dissing the troops on Memorial Day -- couldn't have ANY connection with that slime-merchant Karl Roverer, could it? -- is this:

Murtha's PRIMARY point -- that the command has put the troops under so much pressure, unrelieved, keeping them on the line long after their legal committment should be over, is

WHAT CAUSES BREAKDOWNS LIKE THIS ONE -- not venality or murderousness on the part of those Marines, (at least no more than the basic amount needed to take on the job of being a Marine -- under control and under authority and under the chain of command that extends all the way up to Preseident Yamashita ... uh, President Bush) the cause of this sort of thing is the high command -- safe in their bunkers and mansions -- stretching the troops past the breaking point because they have no regard for the men and women they sent in to fight for their political payoff pals.

And the reason? Once again -- and again and again and again -- those people -- Bush, Rove, Cheney, and the rest -- HAVE NO IDEA what it takes to be willing to go out there for your country -- because THEY were all too goddamn precious to answer their draft calls when they came up ... spoiled brat Rec-Room Patriots killing off the men and women who are actually willing to put their lives on the line.

A line from a Patty Griffin song --

"I only live to see you regret/
Everything that you've done."

Monsters who try to demonize anyone who criticizes them

"Bring 'em on" was what he said and...

"Bush said that remark was "kind of tough talk, you know, that sent the wrong message to people."

"I learned some lessons about expressing myself maybe in a little more sophisticated manner, you know. "Wanted, dead or alive"; that kind of talk. I think in certain parts of the world it was misinterpreted," he said. "

No, it wasn't "misinterpreted" at all --- it was taken as it was meant -- an expression of contempt for anyone in the world who wasn't kissing his ass or, conversely, anyone whose ass HE wasn't kissing.

No one "misinterpreted" anything.

The man has been as transparent as a 10-year old since day one. The amazing thing is that, 5 years later -- he STILL seems to be a 10-year old. And a spoiled one at that.

Why I will not vote for Hillary Clinton for President

I am not a Democrat, but when push came to shove, I have voted Democratic for President pretty much all my life.

But not her, not Hillary.

I look at it this way --

She is all for the war in Iraq.

She is wasting the limited time of our senate with a cynical anti-flag-burning constitutional amendment.

She sat on the board of directors of Wal-Mart for 7 years, thereby helping engineer the single most noxious force against independent community viability we've seen since Eisenhower paid off General Motors with the Federal Highway System.

It takes a village -- my ass. She's really done her best to make sure there are NO MORE VILLAGES in America.

She is trying replace Joey Lieberman as the Democrat Senator who gives the most political blowjobs to Bush.

I know we'd all rather have Bill Clinton back, but if she weren't Mrs. Clinton, no Democrat would walk across the street to spit on someone with that sort of cynical manipulative record.

I certainly won't go to the polls to vote for her --- ever.

Nor, for that matter, anyone put forth by the rigged-primary schedule control powers of the DNC, DLC, TNT, DDT, DDS, DVD, etc.

Enron Jury Unswayed by 'I Didn't Know' - New York Times

So, first of all, put 'em in a high security Federal prison so the children and grandchildren of the oldsters they raped and mugged for their pensions can do the same to them, day after day. They're such tough guys.

If that's a problem to them, and they want to protect their hineys, stash em in a Max Security Pelican-Bay style 23/7 isolation.

The new one in Florence, Colorado would be good.

But even better, the one they're building in Atwater, CA. That way we can all drive over to the valley and fling poop at them during their daily hour of yard exercise.

Second -- if Ahhrnold wants to be elected governor, it's simple -- institute a Class Action Civil Suit against them for conspiracy to inflate gas prices in California -- get the best forensic accountants in the world to find every penny those sonsofbitches stole and return it to California.

I have absolutely no pity for these rotten pricks.

Every time I pay my PG&E* bill, I think of Lay and Skilling as "Flay and Killing".

No mercy. They serve the maximum in the hardest way possible. I have more compassion for George W Bush or Osama Ben Laden -- at least they try to fuckl over people OTHER THAN the ones who are most loyal to them.

I know -- it's federal!

Ship 'em out to one of our rendition resorts in Afghanistan or Bosnia or Egypt.

Drinking at Brennan's in Berkeley some months ago, solving the world's problems, my friend Dick summed up the remaining optimistic hope, regarding GW Bush as president for a second term, in the term used by Leon Trotsky, that in order to bring about great change the first step was:

"Exacerbate the circumstances."**

Since we drank there repeatedly, the thought came up more than once.

The other morning, watching CSPAN Washington Journal, it was becoming obvious that the American public had had it with MonkeyBoy and their primary concerns were Health Care, Education, Social Programs, Immigration... in other words, the mind set seemed to have shifted from Pie-in-the-sky and Terror-in-the-sky to living lives and having an equitable society.

In other words, Monkey Boy and his band of thieves and killers had exacerbated the kiving bejesus out of the circumstances.

Always happy to consider dark conspiracies, here was the way my thoughts went:

The exacerbation is actually seeming to work.

That was Trotsky's preferred method -- "endless revolution" not exactly Thomas Jefferson's dream of intermittent revolution as necessary, but a damn sight closer than the status quo cast-in-concrete so beloved by those temporarily on top.

So -- here's the way it goes ---

The Neocons made up what passed for reality in this piss-on-the-public and plunder administration.

The Neocons were all Trotskyites* a while ago, before their alleged conversion to extremist right wing theoretical insanity, politely referred to as "Conservative."

And now the Trotskyite agenda is being fulfilled.

Are we seeing the result of Stealth Trots?

Is Bush socializing America to get back at his dad?

Or does he even understand what's happening?

The Trotskyite plan would reduce American hegemony in the world, free us to be able to be just another country without having to boss the world around, destroying so-called Free-market Capitalism and moving us much closer to nationalizing oil and other natural resources.

Make us part of the New World Order.

Even if their conversion was honest and sincere, the process is well known to academic types such as they:

Thesis -- Antithesis -- Synthesis

or --

Trotskyites -- Neocons -- Autocratic Anarchy

(but always with some know-it-all in charge in a dictatorial way, trying to control it all, first one way, then another)

**Not original to him, nor even to Jack London who used it earlier.

May 19,2006 | WASHINGTON -- The government has no plans to move at least half of the 10,000 emergency housing trailers sitting empty in Hope, Ark., saying they may be needed for the 2006 hurricane season.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency detailed its plan to keep the trailers at the Hope municipal airport in a letter to Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., who had asked that some of the trailers be used for American Indian housing.

The letter did not mention Johnson's request, but FEMA spokesman Aaron Walker said Friday that federal law says the trailers must be used for disaster victims.

Hey Tim -- tell 'em about the Trail of Tears.

Tell 'em about the Black Hills and the Deadwood Gold Rush.

If Native Americans aren't disaster victims, who is?

Problem is, it's the White Euro-Americans who ARE the disaster.

Tell 'em to look in the mirror, Tim.

Tell 'em the story of the Dog in the Manger.

Last week, on the Bill Maher show, someone remarked with a smile that the Homeland Security Yellow and Orange alerts seem to have disappeared since the last election.

(The implication was that the administration had just been doing it to scare, i.e., to manipulate, cause to fall in line, shut up opponents, eliminate embarrassing questions)

This week, they raised the Danger level to Yellow.

The war goes on, the killing continues,
our soldiers die, their soldiers die*,
civilians minding their own business die,
and our government does what?

The Senate spends the day arguing (in English) about making English the OFFICIAL language of the United States and pass not one but 2-count-'em-2 bills to make it law.

The President spends the day riding a dune buggy and posing for photos.

And oh yeah -- the Senate Judiciary Committee met in a small room inside the Capitol today to take up a constitutional amendment outlawing gay marriage in a closed meeting.
And Arlene Spectre and Russell Feingold had a lovers' spat -- Russ walked out.

*Our Guys = Freedom Fighters
Their Guys = Terrorists

I'm certain the people who died yesterday appreciate the fact that English may become America's OFFICIAL language.

Reposting 5 months later, God help us, still true

From Saintperle, January 22, 2006 ....

I wouldn't be so cynical if...

If ONE -- JUST ONE -- of Bush's proposals didn't involve huge amounts of taxpayers' money going into the pockets of his pals.

Dear Republicans: Y'all have always said that those of us on the leftward side of the eagle (Democrats, Libertarian Left, Socialists, Peace & Freedom, Greens, etc) should be more like you guys.

Well, ok -- I saw this Republican-paid billboard in Texas when I lived there -- different picture, though -- same message:

Do we even need to go into the financially intertwined history of the Bush and Ben Laden Families and suggest that there might be more to not being able to find one of their kids than just stupidity?

Note to Turdblossom: the more secretive you stay, the more baroque our conspiracy theories become. We all want explanations, and when your explanations are either rank and flimsy garbage or "The information is classified," we'll make up our own.

How about those 7 Minutes sitting there with a children's book in his hand, September 11, 2001?

(Didn't Russ Meyer do a movie called The Seven Minutes based on a crappy Irving Wallace novel, about a trial about a book, one in which there was a scene describing 7 minutes found to be obscene? More obscene than the President of the United States sitting frozen like a particularly dumb deer staring into headlights?)

How about Dick Cheney's secret meetings from which came our bizarre energy policy?

How about just looking at these guys and knowing what your mother knew when she looked at one or another or the kids you were hanging out with and said -- "Those boys are bad boys ... they're a bad influence and they'll get you in trouble. Don't play with them or let them play with you"

A gentle word of unsolicited advice for Republicans

Remember how you LOVED the attacks on Bill Clinton, and gave the go ahead to spending $43+ millions to finally determine he got a blow job.

And now you scream like little girls* when anyone reports Bush/ Rumsfeld/ Cheney/Rove/ Goss/ Foggo/ et al possible criminal activities. (By the way, getting a blowjob was never, so I'm told, never a federal crime).

As if telling about the crime is the crime instead of the doing.

You people -- not all Republicans, but, unfortunately, the loud ones, the ones who shout down the moderate members of your party -- act as if it's ok, because it's "OUR TEAM," this time, thereby confirming what the rest of us have suspected ... you don't regard America as your team at all.

So is that ... the T-word? The one y'all used to throw around at Democrats and Supreme Court Justices ...

is that TREASON?

* I regret that canard against little girls -- none of my neighbors' daughters are such crybabies. How about "you scream like spoiled brats who aren't getting your way."

That means millions of Medicare users will have NO drug benefits for the rest of the year, and, according to the news reports, will be paying penalties for the rest of their lives.

His reason?

"People have to learn there's a finality to things."

I keep wondering how this tinpot pissant demagogic little prick can continue to get my ire, but that may be THE ONLY thing he's good at.

Does he think he's a third-grade teacher, and these people, mostly 65-and-over, are his little students?

What an arrogant lying mealy-mouthed sonofabitch he is.

If he just came out and said "Politically, I had to come up with a Medicare Drug Benefit, so we created the most complex, least efficient, biggest Big Pharma Payoff Plunder Pack imaginable, and then made even getting those benefits so complex as to defy most users" I could have a LITTLE respect for him being honest about what a rotten vicious sonofabitch crook he is ...

But no -- just rip off the old people ("Hell, they can't stand out in protests too long ... never catch up with us with those walkers...")

So, dear George W Bush -- you've hit another low --- you were NOT elected to teach us anything.

Your record -- a lifetime of failed projects, always bailed out by someone who wanted your daddy's connections -- and several times rescued by financial contributions from the Ben Laden Family (look it up) suggest what is obvious --

YOU DON"T KNOW JACK SHIT ABOUT ANYTHING but being a sock puppet for the real big boys and you disgust everyone by prancing around -- being a swaggering little twit who thinks his backers won't piss on him and dump his ass as soon as they have what they want and your position is no longer useful to them -- and going below 30% approval with another 2 years to go suggests -- if it were not for the imminence of Dick Cheney becoming prez -- they might just want to shitcan you sooner.

What's your historical record going to be? (And that crap you said about "Who cares? We'll all be dead then." won't wash -- your record will be tallied while you're still young enough to suffer the disdain, disgust, and revulsion of the American public.)

Your record -- you fucked up and threw away Clinton's report on terrorism.

You ignored the CIA opinions and warnings of an imminent attack -- using planes.

Your arrogance and stubborness and stupidity (and servility to the boys in the backroom saying "Naahhh, don't worry about it.") got several thousand people killed horribly on 9-11-2001 -- and a few more thousand from working amidst the toxins.

You killed thousands and thousands of Iraqi's, Afghani's, American military for some imaginary goal (the longer you stonewall, the more baroque conspiracy theories the public comes up with -- or didn't your chubby little Turdblossom know about that part?)

You LET Hurricane Katrina do ethnic cleansing of the Gulf Coast, New Orleans specifically, so your pals in construction, real estate, oil, etc could make even more money without troublesome people of color around (like Iraqis, Afghanis, and so many of the Latino, African-American, and Asian American Armed Forces you and Redrum Rumsfeld hung out without enough equipment to survive).

And now you have this sociopathic scheme to cut Social Security and Medica costs by killing off all the weaker and sicker old people.

You are ALREADY being identified as "The Worst President in American History.

You snigger like the little closet case you are because you think that means you're "BAD."

No, man -- it means you are one pathetic piece of human crap and your name -- BUSH -- is and will be reviled as long as there is a United States of America -- and beyond.

I would suggest you look over your shoulder because your brother Jeb is furious that you cost him any possiblity of ever being president.

And you might want to use the last of your federal connections to go into the Witness Protection Program (plastic surgery to get rid of that little smirk wouldn't hurt either).

I don't think you're the worst (or one of the worst) Presidents we've ever seen.

I consider you to be the worst (or one of the worst) wastes of human protoplasm we've ever seen.

But hey -- nothing personal, sir, no offense intended.

---"Hillary who?"

"Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!"

John Lithgow as Dr. Emil Lizardo in the movie The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension said these prophetic words*. It was 1984.

22 years later, everyone (EVERYONE, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green, Peace & Freedom, and Just Plain Folks) seems to be saying the same thing to Monkey Boy G.W. Bush, advising him of the long hateful years ahead as his name becomes contemptuously equal to that of the recently-redeemed Judas, sitting alone, realizing how the smart boys played him for a sucker, and he went along, merrily committing crimes and destroying lives because some babe or other told him it was ok.

In the world of justice, the fact that you're a fool and a schmuck and a spoiled brat whose shallowness is world class does NOT mean you're not responsible for your crimes.

"Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy."

(If you think Steven Colbert's act was painful to hear and see and endure, you ain't seen/heard/endured nothin' yet.)

*There is a T-shirt available from Starland with "Yoyodyne Propulsion Systems -- A Growing Excited Company" on the front, and Dr. Lizardo's cautionary phrase on the back. It's nifty. (No I don't get anything from them, I just happen to own one and wear it proudly.)

White House Begins Push for C.I.A. Pick

WOW -- this isn't politics any more -- it's somewhere between mythology, science fiction, and the Sopranos -- look at this guy -- he's as loyal as Paulie Walnuts but he's barely maintaining human form -- looks like a cross between ET and a pig foetus.

Even Monkey Boy seems to be viewing him with disdain, perhaps wondering about what niche in exo-biology this Negroponte Gopher might occupy.

Video: Bush Picks Hayden for C.I.A.

White House Dismisses Reports on Goss

May 06,2006 | WASHINGTON -- The White House on Saturday denied that President Bush had lost confidence in just-resigned CIA Director Porter Goss, saying there was a "collective agreement" the agency needed a new leader now.

Bush planned to act quickly, perhaps as early as Monday, to nominate Goss' successor. The leading candidate was Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden, the top deputy to National Intelligence Director John Negroponte, a senior administration official said.

John Negroponte -- known (for his blithe service in Honduras) as "the only man in latin america who didn't know about the death squads." -- Naturally we want to have him in charge of Intelligence.

Of course, there are others -- well-informed others -- who said Mr N was the individual conduit for financing and protecting those same death squads.

(Ahh, the Hobson's Choice of the Bush Administration -- do I prefer to be called a vicious murdering torturing scumbag? Or an incompetent asshole? Hmmm?)

Remember -- when Goss was appointed, there had been a year or two of leaks from the CIA damaging to Monkey Boy and his pals. His tenure made sure those loyal to Clinton -- and to PoppyBush, #41 -- were run out of the Agency.

(Somone I know who knows some of the players inTexas said to me at the time -- pure speculation on his part -- that "We're Texans and a Texan can't go up against his own son, not out in public, but" -- he said -- "just a feeling that maybe #41 gave the nod to his CIA pals to slow down junior's drive to totally destroy the USA.")

DeLay Office Knew Abramoff Arranged Trip

Oboy oboy oboy --- The Hammer gets nailed:

May 06,2006 | WASHINGTON -- Prosecutors have e-mails showing Rep. Tom DeLay's office knew lobbyist Jack Abramoff had arranged the financing for the GOP leader's controversial European golfing trip in 2000 and was concerned "if someone starts asking questions."

House ethics rules bar lawmakers from accepting free trips from lobbyists. DeLay, R-Texas, reported to Congress that a Republican advocacy group had paid for the spring 2000 trip that DeLay, his wife and top aides took to Scotland and England.

The e-mails obtained by The Associated Press show DeLay's staff asked Abramoff -- not the advocacy group -- to account for the costs that had to be legally disclosed on congressional travel forms. DeLay's office was worried the group being cited as paying the costs might not even know about them, the e-mails state...

The documents show Abramoff initially put the airfare for the DeLay trip on his American Express credit card and arranged for two clients -- the Mississippi Choctaw tribe and eLottery -- to route money to Ridenour's GOP policy group to cover the cost...

As George V Higgins put it, essentially, in The Friends of Richard Nixon, the dumbest southey leg-breaker knows if you walk away from the crime, you don't go back to cover it up.

In other words, the Hammer not only took money from someone he shouldn'ta done, but then committed federal fraud to try to hide it.

Tom DeLay meet Kenny Boy Lay -- you'll be room-mates here in a lovely federal Bed & Breakfast for a while.

You'll just have to decide between you who Lays whom.

It's almost painful to watch as they're totally blowing it -- cranky, short-tempered -- it's called "FLOP SWEAT"

Strong Rebuke for the Kremlin From Cheney

MOSCOW, May 4 — Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday delivered the Bush administration's strongest rebuke of Russia to date. He said the Russian government "unfairly and improperly restricted" people's rights and suggested that it sought to undermine its neighbors and to use the country's vast resources of oil and gas as "tools of intimidation or blackmail."

It's the macho version of whining.
Condi snapping at Colin Powell and the Iranians and everyeone else.
Bushie threatening his own litter-bearers (i.e., Republican Congress).
Cheney yelling at the Russians.

We've seen it before -- example, I seem to remember Dan Marino screaming and yelling at his linemen when the Dolphins were down by 20+ points in the 4th quarter of the superbowl against the 49ers.

Or -- as his secretary told and we saw in the movie about the Bunker -- Hitler when he realized the Russians were knocking on the door. Pointing fingers, screaming, shouting, blaming everyone else in the world but the true perp -- the one in the mirror, and finally, doing a Rumplestiltskin.

Like that.

And it would truly painful to watch if:

(1) These people weren't such nasty hypocrites that watching them scream in pain as their vainglorious megalomaniacal world-domination fantasies disintegrate into shreds.

(2) If their personal political and public destruction would hurt America any more than they already have.

(3) If karma and hubris weren't OBVIOUSLY the same thing with these evil clowns.

(4) Cheney didn't have to go all the way to Lithuania to be able to pound his shoe on the table in anger.

(5) Redrum Rumsfeld wasn't so panicked he actually had to go do an open meeting where the audience members hadn't been screened, and some actually didn't love him.

(6) They hadn't told us over and over and over again that we were disloyal anti-American scum and Saddam-lovers and besically, that if we didn't agree with every tit and jottle they put out there, we were traitors.

So fuck 'em.

They made the ground rules.

They obviously have considered South park's Eric Cartman to be their role model.

So let them -- to use an old Republican phrase -- let them twist slowly in the wind, screaming from the spoiled-brat pain of not getting everything they want all the way.

We Americans (i.e., people who want to live our own lives and not try to tell everyone else how to live theirs) will endure, and when they're out of office, we will win back the respect of the world with a very simple sincere gesture -- turning them all over to the World Court to be tried for Crimes Against Humanity.

And that includes Joey Lieberman and Hilary Clinton.

If any of them had ever actually had to deliver the goods for a living, they'd know the old saw that is currently biting them in the ass:

"Be careful the asses you kick on the way up -- they're the same ones you have to kiss on the way down."

They're the ones who declared US to be worthless, so the hell with them. We already despise them for what they've done and the way they've treatred us. Let them sink to their own (true) level. Better than than them (scares me) blowing it all up in a fit of pique because they can't handle not being little Gods.

Meanwhile, did I ever tell you about a couple of people who actually gave did some important things, gave valuable worthwhile contriburions to the world -- Scriabin and Kandinsky -- and how their friendship was based on both having the condition known as synaesthesia?

Well, I will, very soon.

It's a much more interesting story than that tired old one about nasty boys and girls wanting to rule the world.

That's a story -- as William Burroughs would have had it -- that's been dragging its sorry ass around the world since the beginning of time ... and it never gets any better or any less boring.

Wowie Zowie -- there goes Moussaoui

or: Adventures of a Second-Rate Asshole

Moussaoui Given Life Term by Jury Over Link to 9/11

A federal jury rejected the death penalty for Zacarias Moussaoui on Wednesday, with some jurors concluding that he played only a minor role in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

OK -- here's the deal:

1. It's a mixed blessing to be spared the death penalty because the jury has decided they think you're too stupid, too full of crap, and too incompetent to be responsible.

2. Of course he taunted the jury -- it's de riguer to talk tough when your avowed intent to put your life on the line for the cause has never been tested, never been anything more than just talk (i.e., George W Bush).

He's 37 years old.
He SAYS he won.
Let's see how he feels about that after some 20 or 30 years of 23/7 solitary confinement.
If he wants to be a martyr, he'll have to try to hang himself in his self without belt or shoelaces.

(And I don't think you get 73 virgins for suicide. Besides, who wants 73 virgins anyway, except some guy who's worried about his manhood. You offer a man 73 very hot and knowledgeable women who laugh a lot and know tricks, and perhaps you'll get more takers.)

Rich Cohen thinks COLBERT was a bully. Well, maybe, if you've never seen balls, you don't recognize them when they show up.

--God knows he hasn't had the opportunity to see any (other than seeing Helen Thomas demonstrate how they're supposed to be used) in the Washington Press Corps.

So Not Funny

" ...First, let me state my credentials: I am a funny guy...

... Stephen Colbert was not funny at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. All the rest is commentary...

The commentary, though, is also what I do, and it will make the point that Colbert was not just a failure as a comedian but rude ... Colbert was more than rude. He was a bully."

Oh, Mr Cohen is RIGHT -- he IS funny.

Someone standing up and poking at the chickenshit rich kid who is the most egregious bully in public life, and calling HIM a bully?

That Rich Cohen -- he be a funny boy.

My image of Bush has always been the rich kid who has his friends drag you down an alley and kick the crap out of you and after you're thoroughly immobile, comes down the alley and sneers "SO THERE."

This is the man who gives rude and insulting names to people in his sphere, the better to bully them.

This is the man who sends American soldiers on the sort of missions he studiously and cravenly avoided (courtesy of his rich daddy) and then, in the millenial year 2000, tried to pretend he had REALLY BEEN a National Guardsmen, not just some privileged prick who couldn't even finish off his silk stocking obligation.

What this Mr Cohen is really about -- this sterling example of the nutless wonders we've come to call the White House Press -- is being jealous that someone did something that demanded a large shitload of personal courage, standing up in close proximity to a man known for his vindictive use of his privilege.

(Although, as they say in spy and mob movies "We'll do it in a public place... just for my protection")

My father told me when I was young (I am JEWISH):

"Son, there's always a Jew around willing to be a sonderkommando (meaning one of the gang in Auschwitz willing to throw others in the ovens for a little more privilege, a little more life). Don't let anyone try to convince you that's what Jews are supposed to be like."

Well, DeToqueville said, basing his observation on a smaller sample than the sort the FDA disavows as only anecdotal, but true insofar as it went: "Jews everywhere are just like the people in the country where they live -- only more so."

DeToqueville is all well and good, but in this case, I lean more toward Upton Sinclair who said:

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something
when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."

Mr. Colbert recently referred to the sort of cojones Helen Thomas and other women display as "Thatchers."

My wife suggests that we henceforth refer to the sort that man displayed at the Press Corps dinner as "COLBERTs."

What kind of woosie pissant whining babies are Republicans?

I watched Washington Journal on CSPAN this morning, as I do most mornings.

This morning the phones -- for the first 45 minutes -- were open ONLY to Republicans because the question was about the state of the Republican Party.

Ok, and then it was all whining babies --

"We can't do what we want because the Democrats..."
"The liberal media..."
"The Democrats..."
"Teddy Kennedy..."
"Nancy Pelosi and Michael Moore..."

In a time with the largest majority since FDR had nearly free rein over the government, they're STILL complaining that they can't get anything done (like packing the Supreme Court or going to war in Iraq or turning Social Security over to the president's pals) because the Democrats -- the powerless, disorganized, vision-lacking Dem0crats won't let them, and the liberal media is so negative.

Oh and:

"I resent you asking this question (What is the state of the Republican Party?) because it implies that the Republican Party is in trouble, and that's not true."

And oh yeah, a few conservative callers who expressed disappointment and displeasure with Bush's version of being Republican, who regretted having voted for him, regretted the largest increase in size of govt, largest deficit and debt in history, etc...

But mostly it was all the Deomcrats' and the Liberal Media's fault that ... what?... that Monkey Boy hadn't been made King for Life?

"I love Mr Bush and Mr Rumsfeld and Mr Cheney and think they're wonderful people."

I know Democrats can easily be just as biased and blinded to their own party's faults, but really -- did the Democrats whine in the 30's when FDR couldn't pack the Supreme Court completely?

These callers seem to be people who regard anyone who doersn't agree with that simpering piece of shit from Texas (gee, I guess I'm one) as traitors, people who don't belong in America, people who have no right to have THEIR opinions heard.

What a bunch of babies!

The White House on Sunday defended its prewar planning against criticism from an unlikely source -- former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

In an interview broadcast Sunday in London, Powell revisited the question of whether the U.S. had a large enough force to oust Saddam Hussein and then secure the peace.

Powell said he advised now-retired Gen. Tommy Franks, who developed and executed the 2003 Iraq invasion plan, and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld "before the president that I was not sure we had enough troops. The case was made, it was listened to, it was considered. ... A judgment was made by those responsible that the troop strength was adequate...

"The president's military advisers felt that the size of the force was adequate; they may still feel that years later. Some of us don't. I don't," Powell said. "In my perspective, I would have preferred more troops, but you know, this conflict is not over."

"At the time, the president was listening to those who were supposed to be providing him with military advice," Powell said. "They were anticipating a different kind of immediate aftermath of the fall of Baghdad; it turned out to be not exactly as they had anticipated."

"I'm asking politely -- now that I get $100,000 for each speaking engagement, can I please have my balls back?"

Condi Rice, who now is the current Secty of State taking up the bum for Monkey Boy's pleasure, dissed Powell with her withering "I'm certain he said SOMETHING, but blah blah and blah blah and fssst to him."
